PCM

Porous Coated Motion (PCM)

PCM (Cervitech, Inc., Rockaway, NJ) arthroplasty is one of five cervial disc replacement prostheses undergoing a prospective Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) trial.

PCM

PCM is a surface-replacement, no-anterior-profile, cervical arthroplasty with a large enough radius o fcurvature to allow physiologic translation in flexion-extension and side bending without a true "ball-and-socket" constraint.

PCM is an array of implants designed to address a variety of indications, depending on the degree of instability and the amount of bone resected during the neurological decompression

The pilot study of 229 cases in Brazil is the first disc replacement study that shows significantly greater improvement in clinical outcomes, Neck Disability Index (NDI), in the multiple level cervical arthroplasty compared to single level disc replacement

The U.S. IDE study from the PCM is unique in that it includes cervical arthroplasty adjacent to a prior cercial fused vertebral level or arthroplasty in the treatment of adjacent segment disease.

The modularity of the ancillary components and mobile-bearing inserts of the contrained PCM (PCM-C) allow incread stability even in cases of posterior facet joint capsular laxity
